The hills rising north-east of Nazareth carry Nof HaGalil, a town laid out in 1957 under the name Nazareth Illit and renamed in 2019. From most streets the view opens onto the Jezreel Valley and Mount Tabor. A large Russian-speaking population arrived in the 1990s, immigrants from Ethiopia followed, and in recent decades many Arab families from neighbouring localities have moved in, making the town far more mixed than at its founding. Neighbourhoods occupy separate hilltops divided by wadis, with Har Yona in the north the biggest of them, so distances on the map understate real travel times. There is no station in town; Afula, on the Jezreel Valley line, is the nearest. By road, Highway 75 leads west to Haifa, Highway 77 to Tiberias and Route 60 down to Afula. Before an appointment, note the neighbourhood as well as the street and leave a margin for the climbs and detours between hills.
