Avnei Hefetz is a community settlement in the hills of Samaria, founded in 1990 east of Tulkarm, around ten kilometres beyond the Green Line, and administered by the Shomron Regional Council. The name comes from a verse in Isaiah, and the village has a religious character: most families are national-religious, living in detached houses with gardens arranged around a synagogue and a small communal centre. The drive in follows Route 557 from the Netanya and Kfar Yona area, then a local road that climbs to a guarded entrance. No railway serves the area, and bus routes mainly connect to Netanya and Tel Aviv. Once inside, the place is compact enough to cross on foot. Practical advice: announce yourself at the gate, parking along the residential streets is straightforward, and allow time for the ascent from the coastal plain.
