About Shoham

Shoham's first homes went up in 1993 under the "star settlements" programme, created to provide housing quickly during the great immigration wave from the former Soviet Union. This Central District community in the Hevel Modi'in area is bounded by Route 444 to the east and the Nevalat stream to the south, with the moshavim Barkat, Tirat Yehuda and Beit Arif around it. Single-family houses and duplexes dominate, with only a few apartment blocks, and every neighbourhood has its own public gardens; a forest park lies to the east, and the Hi Park business park and Hevel Modi'in industrial zone sit to the north-east. There is no railway station, so visitors arrive by car along Route 444 or Route 453, or by bus. Parking on residential streets is straightforward, though you may walk a few minutes to reach a neighbourhood shopping centre.
