About Ra'anana

Ra'anana was founded in 1922 by Jews from New York, and a century on it is still the Sharon town most shaped by English-speaking immigration (Americans, British, South Africans), with a sizeable French-speaking community since the 2000s. About 20 km north of Tel Aviv, between Herzliya and Kfar Saba, the city is organised along Ahuza Street, the shopping spine that runs its full length, and around the large municipal park in the north. The employment zone, also in the north, hosts high-tech firms, and the new Neve Zemer neighbourhood pushes the city north-east. Highway 4 marks the western edge, Highway 531 passes to the south, and two stations opened in 2021, Ra'anana South and Ra'anana West, link the city to Tel Aviv and Herzliya. For an appointment, remember both stations are on the outskirts: plan a bus or bike ride to the centre, and avoid Ahuza at rush hour, when parking runs short.
