About Kfar Saba

The main town of the inner Sharon, Kfar Saba borders Ra'anana to the west and Hod HaSharon to the south, with the Green Line and Qalqilya just beyond its eastern neighbourhoods. The land was bought in 1898, the village took root in the early twentieth century, and city status came in 1962. Life revolves around Weizmann Street, a long shopping artery that crosses the city from west to east. Trains stop at Kfar Saba-Nordau on the Hod HaSharon line, and Routes 4, 531 and 55 ring the city. Among the newer areas, the "green neighbourhood" (HaYeruka) to the north was planned around energy saving and cycle paths. Practical tip: Nordau station is away from the centre, a short bus or taxi ride covers the gap; near Weizmann Street, the paid car parks beat hunting for a kerbside space.
