About Ganei Tikva

Squeezed between Petah Tikva, Kiryat Ono and the villas of Savyon, Ganei Tikva is one of the small residential suburbs on the eastern side of the Tel Aviv area. It began in 1953 as a neighbourhood of single-family homes and kept that character for decades; newer apartment blocks arrived only from the 2000s. Access is by road: Route 471 skirts the southern edge and connects to Route 4 and Highway 6, and buses run in from Petah Tikva and Tel Aviv. The local council has no train station, the nearest is Kiryat Aryeh in Petah Tikva. Once there, distances are short enough to walk. A useful tip: parking in the older lanes is tight, so head for the public car parks by the shopping centre or the council building.
