One municipality for two communities: in 2003 the Interior Ministry merged the town of Yehud with the neighbouring communal settlement of Neve Monosson, which kept broad autonomy as a borough with its own elected administration from 2005. Together they occupy the eastern Ono Valley in the Central District, between the eastern suburbs of Tel Aviv and Ben Gurion Airport, with the Ono stream marking the western edge. The Kiryat Bialystok neighbourhood recalls founders from that Polish city; the regional high school also serves teenagers from Savyon, Ganei Yehuda and the surrounding moshavim. There is no railway station in town, so visitors drive in along the Ono Valley roads or take a bus from Tel Aviv or Petah Tikva. Yehud itself is walkable once you have parked; Neve Monosson, more residential, is better reached by car right to the door.
